With a focus on Rio Grande do Norte, this work aims to evaluate the impacts of Covid-19 on the evolution of the workforce, population distribution, gender disparities and racial differences, based on the National Household Sample Survey Continuous (PNADC). This is an exploratory research, which uses PNAD-C microdata through the comparative statistical method, covering the periods 2019.4 and 2020.4. For this purpose, the R software was used. By carrying out the comparative analysis, this study allows us to investigate the differences before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in RN, thus allowing us to verify its socioeconomic impacts during this critical period. The results highlighted existing regional inequalities and social vulnerability, exposing deeper structural issues in society such as the precariousness of the labor market, implying not only the need to have to deal with the immediate challenges of the pandemic, but also recognizing the inability of existing basic structures. As a suggestion, the need to make continuous investments in the public health system and the creation of social programs aimed at confronting conditions of socio-economic vulnerability is highlighted, considering existing socioeconomic inequalities.
