CORONAVÍRUS E CÁRCERE:

CONSIDERAÇÕES SOBRE SAÚDE PÚBLICA, SISTEMA ECONÔMICO E NECROPOLÍTICA

Abstract

In pandemic times, there has been a silent genocide of the Brazilian prison population, which manifests itself through the increasing and systematic number of deaths and infected by coronavirus among incarcerated people and prison officers. In the neoliberalismo context, the way people deprived of their liberty are treated in the public space and read by society is a direct consequence of the dynamics of incarceration and punitivism rooted in society, therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the current situation within a pre-existing context of politics and economics. Based on this problem, the present study proposes to analyze the Executive and the Judiciary omission in providing means to avoid aggravating the contamination of Covid-19 in the prison and socio-educational system, which can be seen as an expression of necropolitics and state violence. Even after recommendations by the National Council of Justice, many judges refuse to reduce the number of people in prison, and the responses so far offered to alleviate the situation have not been effective.
