Amid lashes, make-up, wigs and books: different forms of (re)production of masculinities

Abstract

This paper aims to problematize some knowledge related to the process of (re)construction of subjectivities such as masculinities, resistances and (in)disciplines. In order to do this, different excerpts from the English musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie will be analyzed. Cultural artifacts have pedagogical, social, aesthetic and political power, promoting debates and visibility to other ways of being in social relations. The theoretical and methodological contributions come from the works of Michel Foucault and from the poststructuralist perspective.
