Sexual identity, homosexuality and school graffiti: possibilities of readings

Abstract

This article aims to reflect on the representations of homosexuality in some graffiti produced by teenagers in a state school in northwest São Paulo, between the years 2018 and 2019 from a gender perspective. We seek to identify and analyze in the images the constructions of subjectivities, stigmas, prejudices of gender and sexuality. Regarding the methodology, it is a descriptive-exploratory research, of qualitative character and with the handling of the images we use elements of semiotic analysis and Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), as they allow us to examine sociocultural and linguistic aspects. The results point to the lack of research in teacher education on themes, genders and sexualities, the existence of prejudices related to homosexuality.
