OS DESAFIOS DA COMUNIDADE LGBTQI+ NO CONTEXTO DE ISOLAMENTO SOCIAL EM TEMPO DE PANDEMIA DA COVID-19

Abstract

The weaknesses associated with the LGBTQI + community is something we all know. Since xenophobic and racist actions, this community still suffers today from a huge social prejudice, the result of centuries based on a normative social structure. In this sense, we intend with this essay to understand the effects that the Covid-19 pandemic had on the LGBTQI+ community during the period of confinement, in the social, economic and emotional domains. As a methodology, we applied a questionnaire survey to 206 residents in Brazil and Portugal. The results of our study seem to reveal that this community did not suffer any profound damage during this pandemic period.
