The main focus of this work is to analyze and compare how third-year high school students, in the interior (Riacho da Cruz) and in Parnamirim, metropolitan region of RN, understand democracy and the political sphere as a whole, taking into account what says the educational legislation on the teaching of Sociology and its duties with students, the age range of students who are characterized as young people and the importance of discussing democracy and politics with this audience. Methodologically, this research uses quantitative methodologies, questionnaires and data analysis to obtain results, which in turn, prove a loss of space from education to the internet, a disbelief in political parties and democracy, although the students
consider them important and have a broad democratic vision.
