Abstract

In this article, we analyze the configurations of domestic work and care work in the life of a woman who lives in João Pessoa, based on her life story and direct observation of her daily life, as well as a bibliographical and documental review. This analysis is based in part on the results of the doctoral research Unpaid Domestic Labour: disruptions, continuities and adaptations of domestic and care work. We use the intersectional approach as an analytical guide for the data obtained. Finally, we find the existence of reproductive work chains, a complex network of invisible work among women, which expropriates women's time, generates overcharge, and causes the erasure of the historical and generational fact related to reproductive work, as a work of women.
