The article seeks to understand - through the metaphor of the “wave” the different moments acts of activism and feminist struggles, in their own historical contexts and with their particularities, at the international level and its influences and repercussions in Brazil. The 1st “wave” can be characterized, from of the first decades of the last century, with the suffragettes, suffers reflux, to navigating, at the national level, to the 1970s, with the arrival of the 2nd “wave”. The other “maritime” overlaps covered the activism(s) and struggle(s) feminist(s) who characterized, in the entry of the 21st century, the 3rd “wave”. For so much was arried out a socio-historical by the bibliography to arrive in the 4th “wave” in the first decade of the XXI century. So it was possible to identify the existence of new types of activism and
of organizations with generational renewal who have the technological means of innovative communication. Ruptures and tensions have been identified, but there are, undeniably, advances in the achievements
feminists. It is worth noting that any attempt at “classification” always brings some emblance of “arbitrariness”.
