The article discusses mediation as an appropriate means for resolving land conflicts, demonstrating the expansion of strategies from a dialogic perspective of interaction between public and private actors. The results presented are referenced in research and extension projects that involve, in addition to the University, actors of the Justice System. Data related to two case studies were presented, one “socio-environmental conflict in a coastal community” and one “land conflict in a rural community”. The data comes from technical visits, data surveys and workshops held in the territories involved in the conflicts in question. In conclusion, the consequences of the mediation strategies adopted in two specific cases stand out, observing the limits and potentialities generated in the search for a deeper guarantee of rights in judicialized land conflicts.
