Abstract

The present work proposes a discussion about necropolitics, relating it to biopower based on a reflection on the work The History of Sexuality [1976 (1999)] by Michel Foucault. The power to dictate who can live and who must die worked by Achille Mbembe, in Necropolitics. Biopower, sovereignty, state of exception, politics of death (2018), helps us think about how the Bolsonaro government's anti-vaccine speeches were constructed and legitimized in Brazil. To this end, a bibliographical review and analysis of speeches available on online networks, newspapers and magazines with large circulation are proposed. This study aims to present the concepts of necropolitics and biopower directly related to the recently experienced pandemic scenario. Reflection on the actions of managers regarding not only decision-making, but mainly the way in which these actions were put into practice becomes essential in the sociological analysis we propose.
