The advancement of digital platforms and the so-called "Industry 4.0" in contemporary society has led to an exponential increase in the precarization of work and, consequently, the deterioration of the living conditions of the working class. Building on this premise, this text aims to provide insights into how the subordination of labor to capital impacts labor relations in the era of digital capitalism and its subjects, especially the precariat. Methodologically, in addition to a literature review based on dialogue with classic and contemporary authors interested in the topic, we will use secondary data, derived from academic studies and newspaper articles. Thus, the text concludes by highlighting that in Brazil, the understanding of the precariat is associated with a new degree of real subordination of labor to capital, largely marked by changes in the capitalist mode of production, in its imperialist phase, and by the advance of absolute pauperization.
