THE DENIALISM IN THE 21ST CENTURY IN THE NEW BRAZILIAN RIGHT AND ITS THEORETICAL IMPACTS ON THE HUMAN AND SOCIAL SCIENCES
Keywords:
Brazilian extreme right, post-truth, denialism, scientific historianAbstract
This article aims to analyze how the new Brazilian rights mobilize historical-scientific denialism, exemplified in the case of Brasil Paralelo. Furthermore, we seek to reflect on how denialism is inserted in a broader context, both local and global, marked by the rise of contemporary extreme right-wingers, and how this mobilization in the 21st century impacts the Human and Social Sciences. The proposed debate is based on broad analytical categories, such as post-truth, new rights and historical-scientific denialism. However, when reflecting on the role of historical-scientific denialism in the 21st century, it is possible to understand how this movement, fixed on a current phenomenon, is being debated in other media. This allows us to understand advances in academic discussions about how these discourses are mobilized outside of a referential framework limited to 20th century issues.
KEYWORDS: Denialism; historical-scientific; post-truth and Brazilian extreme right.
