Abstract

ABSTRACT

This article seeks to analyze the process of creating the video performance Raízes carried out in the subject of Spectacular Practices of Brazilian Culture, of the Theater Degree Course, UFMA. The work aims to reflect on how personal and academic experiences enabled the creative process of the RAÍZES video performance, considering the black corporeality present in Tambor de Crioula. By analyzing and identifying the scenic-sacred elements of this manifestation that were present in the research-creation and that influenced the composition of the work, this study points out the confluences between the Tambor de Crioula and the Theater.

Boaes, Universidade Federal de Maranhão

Graduated in Theater from the Federal University of Maranhão – 2024. She is a research actress-dancer. Works in the area of ​​Arts/Theater/Dance/Performance with research in Corporeality, Dance -Theatre, Afro-Brazilian Culture.

Gisele Vasconcelos, Universidade Federal de Maranhão

She is a professor at the Department of Performing Arts at UFMA. She has a degree in Performing Arts (2000) and a master's degree in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Maranhão (2007). She has a PhD in Performing Arts from the School of Communication and Arts, USP with a post-doctorate at UNIRIO. She is an actress-researcher at Grupo Xama Teatro and leader of the research group Theatrical Pedagogies and Cultural Action, at Cnpq. He works in the area of ​​Arts/Theatre with research in education, storytelling, scenic acting and cultural management.
