ARTISTIC MANIFESTATIONS AND CULTURAL HERITAGE OF ITACARÉ-BA

Abstract

In this article, we present experiences in artistic manifestations of quilombola origin, present in the municipality of Itacaré (BA). The elders, through storytelling, ended up facilitating the preservation of memories, which soon accumulated as cultural heritage of the municipality, more precisely of the quilombo Porto de Trás, which has resisted for more than 287 years. The main objective of this research is to retell the stories and reveal the artistic manifestations and cultural heritage, sometimes usurped cognitively and culturally by white people, namely: Rancho do Bicho e do Caçador, and Lavagem do Porto de Trás. The methodology used was based on bibliographical reviews, as well as the carrying out of the Listening Research, in a context of alterity, to then present the resistance of the black people of the South of Bahia. Finally, searches conveyed as black culture provide encounters of knowledge, exchanges of oral stories and appreciation of Afro-Brazilian identities and experiences.

João Vítor Mulato é indígena Potiguara (RN), artista e professor Adjunto da Universidade Federal do Sul da Bahia, atuando na Licenciatura Interdisciplinar em Artes e suas Tecnologias, do Instituto de Humanidades, Artes e Ciências (IHAC), Campus Paulo Freire. Licenciado em Pedagogia (UNINASSAU), Teatro e Dança (UFRN). Especialista em Consciência Corporal, Saúde e Qualidade de Vida (UFRN), Ensino de Teatro (IFRN) e Artes (UFPel).
