Abstract

The text seeks to reflect on historical points in which the black subject is highlighted through performative acts, in which they assume a certain visibility. The text seeks to understand in these acts and actions the execution of performative acts incited by excluded, segregated bodies, bodies under reconstruction, bodies to which the essayist Josette Feral will reference in the book “Beyond the Limits: Theory and Criticism of Theater” (2015), in which she permeates the concept of performance and performativity, existing in bodies like these, living in the 19th century. This article also permeates the understanding of territory/(re)torritorialization in which Muniz Sodré explains in the book: “The Terreiro and the City: the Negro-Brazilian Social Form” (2002), on which the text seeks to rely, in order to highlight the resistance, resilience and will to exist of these black men and women, in the territories of Minas Gerais, performing actions and building paths in which they could exist.
