La formalización profesional de Facilities Management en Brasil: análisis crítico de los agentes

El sector de Facilities Management (FM) en Brasil ha experimentado un crecimiento significativo en las últimas décadas, impulsado por la participación activa de asociaciones profesionales, instituciones educativas, el mercado, comités técnicos e iniciativas gubernamentales, los cuales desempeñan un papel esencial en la institucionalización de las profesiones contemporáneas, incluido el FM. Este campo está dedicado a la gestión de entornos construidos, con el objetivo de garantizar calidad, seguridad, sostenibilidad y confort para los usuarios. Sin embargo, se cuestiona si, después de tantas décadas de desarrollo, el sector está adecuadamente formalizado en Brasil. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la participación de estos agentes en la percepción de los profesionales del área mediante una investigación cuantitativa. Los resultados revelaron una percepción ambivalente, caracterizada por respuestas neutras y críticas sobre la valorización, el reconocimiento y la formalización del sector. La falta de una regulación clara y de estandarización de las actividades y cargos, además de la visión limitada que aún predomina en la sociedad y en las empresas, restringe el potencial estratégico del FM, reduciéndolo frecuentemente a una función operativa y de soporte, salvo algunas excepciones.
