Impacts of noise on wind power generation
The perception of residents of rural communities

This study aims to assess the impacts of noise from wind energy management units on the quality of life of rural communities in the municipality of São Vicente in Rio Grande do Norte. The methodology includes a bibliographical search of the literature to understand the existing studies on the subject, in addition to on-site visits and interviews, seeking to collect data on the environmental impacts after the installation of wind farms. The expected results include the identification of the main impacts of wind turbine noise on the quality of life of communities. It is concluded that it is essential to implement effective strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of wind turbine noise in Sítios Acauã and Baixa do Sítio. The adoption of policies that promote careful planning of the location of wind farms, the development and application of advanced noise reduction technologies, as well as the implementation of compensatory measures for affected residents, are essential to ensure that the benefits of wind energy are enjoyed in a sustainable and inclusive manner.
