Ethics and Best Practices Statement

Ethics and Best Practices Statement

This declaration defines the ethical principles adopted by the Northeast Geosciences Journal - REGNE, as well as the best practices in the entire process of publishing the works sent to REGNE.

The Northeast Geosciences Journal adopts the ethical principles and guidelines established in the "Committee on Publication Ethics" (http://publicationethics.org/), being, therefore, committed to the best practices of publishing scientific papers. The principles of impersonality and confidentiality are guaranteed in the evaluation process, avoiding conflicts of interest.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Northeast Geosciences Journal is responsible for implementing the Declaration of Ethics and Good Practices in relation to all published works. In this way, REGNE is responsible for supporting freedom of expression, being available to readers, authors and reviewers for any need, ensuring that all works have the same evaluation criteria, maintaining the quality of published works and publishing errata when required. All articles go through a blind evaluation process and are submitted to anti-plagiarism procedures. The entire review process carried out by the evaluators is carried out in the journal's system, guaranteeing the protection and confidentiality of the evaluators. REGNE adopts the Open Journal Systems (OJS) system for managing and publishing scientific journals.

Editors' Responsibilities: Editors have a responsibility to ensure that all articles have the same criteria without any discrimination. All articles received the same evaluation criteria adopted by the journal, without any discrimination, considering only academic / scientific merit. The editors have adopted necessary procedures, defined by the magazine, in case of complaints of an ethical nature and conflict. All complaints must be investigated and withheld.

Reviewers' Responsibilities: All reviewers, before the start of the evaluation process, must declare any conflict of interest and ethics. Reviewers should contribute to decision making, in addition to helping to improve the quality of articles published in the Northeast Geosciences Journal. All reviewers must follow the evaluation process determined by REGNE, filling out a specific evaluation form (which is made available after acceptance of the review), in addition to indicating the improvements that should be made throughout the text. Reviewers should alert editors to any articles that resemble others that have already been published.

Authors' Responsibilities: Authors who submit articles to the Northeast Geosciences Journal should read and comply with all information and guidelines contained in the journal's About and Submission page (https://periodicos.ufrn.br/revistadoregne/about e https://periodicos.ufrn.br/revistadoregne/about/submissions). Authors must declare any conflicts of interest and be in accordance with the policies adopted by the journal and the conditions for submission. Authors in the submission process must confirm that they are in accordance with the conditions for submission to proceed with the submission process. The authors are responsible for all data and information forwarded, as well as its veracity. Authors should, at any time, notify editors of any errors in their publication. When necessary, assist editors in publishing Errata.
