Abstract

The work aims to make a rescue about the ringing of the bells and the profession of bellmakers in Diamantina/MG, understanding the entire history that permeates the cultural and historical identity of the profession and the importance of the language of bells over time and its contribution for the community. The methodological approach derives from the literature review on intangible heritage, the craft of the bell-makers and the ringing of bells, and through a document review on the subject, in order to better understand this cultural manifestation in Diamantina/MG. Finally, it is understood that the ringing of the bells and the profession of the bell-makers must be recognized, valued, preserved and perpetuated, indicating the cultural return of this valuable asset to the Diamantinense community.

Fernanda de Alencar Machado Albuquerque, UFVJM

Professora Adjunta da Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri-UFVJM atuando no Curso de Turismo da Faculdade Interdisciplinar em Humanidades (FIH). Pós-doutorado em Turismo pela Universidade de Aveiro/Portugal. Doutora em Educação pela Universidade Federal de Uberlândia-UFU; Doutorado sanduíche em Lisboa pela Universidade de Lisboa-UL; Mestre em Turismo e Meio Ambiente pelo Centro Universitário UNA; Graduada em Turismo pelo Centro Universitário Newton Paiva. Atualmente leciona as disciplinas: Fundamentos do Turismo, Turismo e Patrimônio, Gestão de Eventos e Inovação em Turismo.
