Abstract

After doing an overview of the massive prison population in the last
years, the present paper intends to analyze how happened the new
coronavirus’ pandemic inside prisons in the first semester of 2020. It
will be evaluated how the authorities dealt with the crisis, which
measures were taken by the government to stop de virus dissemination
and what were the most relevant specialists’ recommendations,
considering the complexity of the scenario. Also, it will be analyzed
the fundamentals used on important legal sentences by the courts of
justice.
