Este artigo analisa as relações intersocietárias e os processos de territorializaçáo envolvendo os Apániekra Jê Timbira na perspectiva de “situaçáo histórica”. Para delinear estratégias para analisar os dados, percorro pela pesquisa historiográfica, associada ao trabalho etnográfico. Intercalo as análises para descortinar um panorama amplo, que ultrapassa as conexões extra-aldeias, percebendo os arranjos políticos com a finalidade de entender os valores pensados e vividos pelos Apániekra Jê Timbira nas diversas situações históricas. O estudo recupera informações dos processos de territorializaçáo, conflitos e acordos, e relaciona as conexões que levaram à atual configuraçáo territorial do grupo, quando os territórios habitados por grupos indígenas no Brasil passaram a adquirir o status jurídico-administrativo de Terras Indígenas.

ABSTRACT

This paper analyzes the intergroup relations and processes of territorializaçáo involving the Apániekra Jê Timbira that inhabit the region mid-west of the State of Maranháo. In order to delineate strategies for analyzing the data, I surveyed the historiographic research related to the ethnographic work. I intercalated the analyses to disclose a wider panorama exceeding the extra-village relationships, perceiving the political arrangements with the intention of understanding the values in thinking and living by the members of the community Apániekra Jê Timbira in their diverse historical situations. The study recovers information about the processes, conflicts and agreements in relation to territoriality, and outlines the relationships that led up to the current territorial configuration of the group, when the territories inhabited by aboriginal groups in Brazil began to acquire the legal-administrative status of Aboriginal Lands.
