Towards and anthropology of the "trick" ["programa"]

Abstract

Current article aims to analyze aspects related to the world of “tricks” [“programas”] from the point of view of male escorts [“garotos de programa”/“GPs”] and clients: the social production of identities related to the “tricks”, the mutual constitution of subjectivities, corporealities and circulation of goods and money, the social production of professional conventions and the subject gender biotechnology. Such analyzes insist on the profitability of the analytical procedure which consists of positioning the “trick” as the center from which a network of subjects, human and non-human, is understood.
