MORAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION: SOCIAL REPRESENTATIONS AND MORAL JUDGMENTS OF STUDENTS (AS) OF FUNDAMENTAL AND MEDIUM EDUCATION OF PRIVATE SCHOOLS AND PUBLIC IN DAILY SCHOOL SITUATIONS

This paper presents the results of a study that aimed to investigate the social representations and moral judgments that male and female students from private and public schools, they do in everyday school situations of different series, checking these cognitions, the possible influence of different pertinence group, these are: age, gender and type of school (private or public), as well as the moral principles that anchor such representations. As data collection procedure observations were made in the different disciplines that make up the curriculum of rooms fifth. grade of elementary school and first. series of secondary education, private and public schools of the city of Caico / RN, during the day in private schools and afternoon and evening periods in public schools. The theoretical analysis is based on the approach of the Psychology of Moral Development of Piaget and Kohlberg and Gilligan and the Theory of Social Representations created by Moscovici. As preliminary results, pointing to the need of questioning and reflection on the pedagogical and educational processes, interpersonal relationships, expectations regarding knowledge, the school, and the functions and roles that each occupies in day the school day, while essential exercises in an area of knowledge construction that is productive, rich and stimulating.
