Abstract

The emergence of Sars-CoV-2 triggered one of the biggest pandemics in history with immeasurable consequences, especially for people from vulnerable groups, such as the LGBTQIA+ community. The objective of this study was to identify the impacts on the mental health of LGBTQIA+ people during the health crisis caused by the new coronavirus. This is an integrative review of the literature, in which the descriptors "Sexual and gender minorities", "Bisexuality", "Homosexuality", "Homosexuality, Female", "Homosexuality, Male", "Covid-19" and "Mental health". The databases used were Scopus, Medline, Web Of Science and ScienceDirect. Studies published in the last three years (2019 to 2021) in English, Portuguese and Spanish related to the study theme were included, resulting in in 24 articles that composed the sample. It was evidenced that Covid-19 caused an increase in negative signs and symptoms to the mental health of the LGBTQIA+ community. Among the main manifestations, depression was the most present in the studies (N=12/ 32 %), followed by anxiety (N=09/24%) and stress (N=04/11%). In view of this, it is suggested that new studies be carried out with the aim of promoting strategies for the control and monitoring of cases, in addition to promoting public policies in mental health.
