The year 2020 was a paradigm-breaking milestone. The health crisis of the new Coronavirus has led to the need to build new methodological tools that mark the transition from face-to-face to remote teaching. In addition, it forced the entire population to reflect on what the “new normal” would be. New technologies have brought benefits for the worker to provide his service without the need to leave his home and the possibility of working wherever he is (CARDIM, 2021). The main objective of this work is to investigate the socio-environmental practices that were developed in the Environmental Education Sector of the Municipal Secretariat for the Environment and Urbanism of Natal, before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Technology, which was often seen before as something that distanced individuals from social interaction, now presents itself as a collective benefit for the educational process. In view of this scenario, the Environmental Education Sector of the Secretariat for the Environment and Urbanism adapted the Programs and Projects already developed in person, in the pre-pandemic. With the consequent social isolation, several socio-environmental policies were affected and observing, a significant reduction in the number of actions and projects was identified, evidencing the various difficulties in carrying out Environmental Education (EA) actions, however, it was noticed that the social networks and configured themselves as a new tool to mediate AE actions.
