Abstract

This article discusses video games and relates them to generative artificial intelligences and their possible applications. Digital games are made up of the symbolic construction of images and sounds, as well as interactive media and electronic devices. Generative artificial intelligences are involved in the professional activities of video game development. The first section presents the
most general characteristics of a digital game and the affinities between artificial intelligences and video games that design part of the interactions with players. The second section outlines the ways in which artificial intelligence technologies are applied and their specific uses in relation to games. In the third section, it is understood that current generative technologies are a simultaneous part of human work and machine learning. The fourth section presents a panorama of professional
activities linked to video games and their confrontation with the substitutive incorporation of professionals by artificial intelligences. As a “testing ground”, digital games can be experiments for “new ideas”, since they express narratives, senses, meanings and appropriations.
