TEACHER EMPOWERMENT AND PUBLIC BILINGUAL EDUCATION: EXPERIENCES OF LINGUISTIC IMPROVEMENT OF TEACHERS

ABSTRACT: This experience report aims to share the experiences accomplished by an extension team with teachers from a public bilingual school in João Pessoa - PB. The purpose of this partnership was to enhance the language proficiency of teachers from a municipal school who teach part of their school subjects in English. To this end, a course with this public was implemented from October to December 2021. This course dealt with specific issues of bilingual education and its implementation methodologies in schools, as well as relevant aspects to language use in a teaching context. The permanent evaluation of the actions allowed the team to meet the demands of the participating teachers, which brought positive results to all those involved in the extension project.
