Active methodologies prioritize the active participation of students in the learning process, contrasting with traditional teaching centered on the teacher as the holder of knowledge. These pedagogical practices are relevant for future education, seeking to renew the ways of teaching and learning. Based on Paulo Freire's (1970) collaborative vision, this report describes a tournament conducted by PIBID scholarship holders with 8th-grade students, using the TGT (Teams-Games-Tournament) method, which promotes cooperative learning through team games. The report details the planning, execution, and evaluation of the tournament, highlighting playful and interactive activities to work on grammar content. The analysis of the results reveals a positive impact on academic performance and student motivation, providing a meaningful experience in knowledge acquisition.
