A social responsibility of the University: reflections in Angola

Abstract

University extension is one of the three functions of the university. However, national and international researchers assume that it is the function with the lowest performance compared to teaching and research. The objective of this article is to develop an action plan that fosters reflection on the development of extension programs and projects. The research begins with a bibliographic review of several scientific articles, conferences by national and international authors, and books related to the topic. It analyzes the main university models, identifies the main obstacles to the extension process in higher education institutions in Angola, and finally presents an action plan to promote the development of this important university function.
