O encontro entre imagologia e literatura infantil

A partir da década de 1970, a pesquisa em literatura infantil desenvolveu diversas abordagens, desde críticas ideológicas simples até aplicações mais sofisticadas da teoria pós-colonial, para analisar como, e com qual finalidade, membros de outros grupos nacionais, culturais, raciais e étnicos são representados em textos para crianças. No entanto, um campo de estudo pertencente à Literatura Comparada, a Imagologia, que trata especificamente da construção cultural e da representação literária de personagens nacionais na literatura, ainda não teve muito impacto na literatura infantil. Este artigo de revisão da literatura apresentará suas origens e métodos de investigação, assim como delineará áreas de interesse imagológico na literatura infantil, que já foram ou ainda estão esperando para serem abordadas de forma produtiva, a fim de mostrar o que o campo pode ganhar com essa abordagem.
