Nursing team performance in humanized birth: integrative review

Introduction: Health care for women in labor has been discussed in Brazil, with the humanization of the process being closely linked to birth and the nursing team working directly to promote the health of women in labor. Objective: Understand the importance of nurses and the nursing team in the procedure and practice of humanized childbirth and postpartum. Methodology: Using an integrative literature review, scientific articles were analyzed in the Scielo, PubMed and VHL databases. After applying inclusion and exclusion, nine scientific articles were selected. Results: The studies highlight the importance of non-invasive practices and the role of obstetric nurses in humanizing childbirth. Examples include water birth, women's participation in birth decisions, and the collaborative model that reduces unnecessary interventions. Conclusions: The need for respectful care, women's autonomy and training in humanizing practices to improve the quality of obstetric care is emphasized.
