Copyright and Licensing (CC BY)
This is a permanent policy of Revista Ciência Plural (RCP). It explains how copyright and licensing apply to articles published by the journal. For operational submission guidance (template, mandatory documents, checklist, and steps of the editorial process), please consult the Submission menu.
Copyright
As a general rule, authors retain the copyright to their manuscripts.
Once an article is accepted for publication, authors grant RCP a non-exclusive license to:
-
publish the article (including editing, copyediting/standardization, layout, and online publication); and
-
disseminate the content and its metadata through databases, directories, indexers, and repositories, for preservation purposes and increased visibility.
This grant does not prevent authors from reusing the work in other legitimate contexts, provided that the original publication in RCP is properly cited.
Creative Commons license adopted
Articles published by RCP are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)license.
This means that third parties may copy, distribute, display, translate, adapt, and create derivative works—including for commercial purposes—provided that appropriate credit is given to the author(s) and to the original publication in RCP.
How to provide attribution (credit)
When reusing content published in RCP, users must clearly indicate:
-
name(s) of the author(s);
-
article title;
-
journal title (Revista Ciência Plural);
-
year, volume, issue, and pages (when applicable);
-
DOI and/or a link to the published version (when available);
-
a reference to the CC BY 4.0 license;
-
an indication of changes, if the material has been adapted.
Third-party materials (images, tables, instruments)
If the manuscript contains copyrighted third-party material (figures, tables, images, instruments, extensive excerpts, etc.), it is the responsibility of the author(s) to:
-
obtain the necessary permissions, when applicable; and
-
properly indicate the source and the licensing status of the material.
Depositing, repositories, and preprints
RCP allows and encourages authors to:
-
deposit the manuscript in institutional or subject repositories; and/or
-
submit and maintain preprints in recognized servers,
provided that the reference to publication in RCP is maintained and, when available, the DOI/link to the published version (version of record) is included.
Transparency and article-related statements
To support integrity and transparency in scholarly communication, published articles may include statements such as funding, conflicts of interest, ethics, author contributions (e.g., CRediT), and data availability, in accordance with the journal’s policies and guidelines.
