The concept of a “backlog” causes frustrations in day-to-day life, as the non-described meters are added to the current drilling campaign, creating an unending cycle where valuable information isn’t available in the system due to operational delays. After the finding of said backlog in the mine of Córrego do Sítio, estimated in 53 km in the month of September (2021), a project was urgently started, due to the need of said information in the company’s database for the geological modelling of the orebodies. The main goal of the project is describing the practical application of project management concepts in a core shed, focusing on the reduction of stock and treatment of the existing information. Several factors were extremely important in the making of this project, where a thorough review of the production chain in the core shed was needed, focusing on the concept of “Lean Change Management”.
