Organizers:

The last decades have seen important transformations in the field of gender and sexuality, towards the emergence of new subjects, categories and rights in a field permeated by disputes and conflicts. Anthropology has provided a central contribution to the understanding of these processes, affirming its historical commitment to populations whose rights and dignity have been under attack by different social actors. The knowledge produced in the context of gender and sexuality studies has also generally illuminated processes of production of differences and inequalities, starting from the perspective that gender and sexuality articulate – and constitute each other – with other categories such as race, social class, generation, territorialities, among others.

The aim of this dossier is to gather contributions that, situated at the intersection between gender, sexuality and other categories of difference, offer a reflection relevant to the contemporary context, particularly in the following terms: 1) the dynamics related to violence in its various modalities, social contexts and forms of administration; 2) the intricate processes of subjectivation related to gender and sexuality and the production of bodies and subjects; 3) the constitution of territories and processes involving movement, transits, flows and borders of different orders; 4) transformations, conflicts and disputes in the field of rights, policies and movements.
