QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE ATTITUDES OF HEALTH PROFESSIONALS IN THE SERVICE OFFERED TO LESBIAN USERS

Abstract

The present study aimed to carry out the investigation and analysis of the attitudes of doctors, nurses, nursing technicians and health agents who work in USF (Family Health Unit) about affective practices and sexual vulnerability of lesbians. It was an exploratory and descriptive study, of transversal character, with qualitative design, carried out in Family Health Units, through the application, with health professionals, of an attitudes questionnaire. There was a diversification of attitudes in relation to the questions asked by the professionals, both favorable and unfavorable in relation to the importance of the revelation, on the part of the user, of her sexual orientation, about the vulnerability to sexually transmitted infections in lesbians and about the existence of sexual health specificities of lesbians.

Bacharel em Direito pela Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB). Possui experiência na área da Psicologia Clínica, com ênfase na Terapia Cognitivo-Comportamental. Avaliador de periódicos científicos. Pesquisador em temáticas relacionadas à Psicologia Social e da Saúde, com enfoque na Diversidade Sexual; Grupos Minoritários; Direitos Sociais; Vulnerabilidades em Saúde; Promoção da Saúde; Dignidade da Pessoa Humana e Direitos Humanos.

Ana Alayde Werba Saldanha, Universidade Federal da Paraíba

Graduation and Training in Psychology from the Paraibano Institute of Education (1985), Specialization in Public Health (1996), Master in Psychology (Social Psychology) from the Federal University of Paraíba (1998); Doctorate (2003) and Post-Doctorate (2012) in Psychology from the University of São Paulo (USP). He is currently Associate Professor II at the Federal University of Paraíba, in the Graduate Programs in Social Psychology (Master and Doctorate - UFPB), where he develops research with an emphasis on Primary Health Care, working with the following themes: AIDS, actions and programs in basic unit, health prevention and promotion, adolescent health, vulnerability, gender, old age. She is coordinator of the Research Center for Vulnerabilities and Health Promotion (UFPB). She works as a researcher in the Psychosocial Care Program for AIDS linked to FFCLRP/USP.
