Keywords:
Hypervitaminosis; Vitamin D; Systematic Review.Abstract
The study aims to investigate and analyze the case reports of vitamin D poisoning through a systematic review. For data collection, MedLine, LILACS, and IBECS were used with the help of the descriptors: “Intoxication” and “Vitamina D” in Portuguese and English. Full articles of case reports published between 2015 and 2019 were included. Subsequently, the data were organized in tables, tables and figures made in Microsoft Word and Excel 2010. At the end of the selection of the most relevant publications, the results of 4 articles were interpreted. The most common signs and symptoms of intoxication are lack of appetite, polydipsia, polyuria, constipation, irritability, lassitude, reduction in weight gain, with the use of bisphosphonates being the most applied treatment. The most common scenario observed was the error of administration of the correct dosages. Thus, replacement should take special care, with this monitoring being the role of the family and health professionals who accompany them.
