Abstract

In order to talk about International Business, there are several sub-themes that can be analyzed, despite being associated with many differents approaches and provide a association with a main theme. That include greater understanding of how business between different countries can occur and what the impact of these actions is in each of them. This article aims to encourage readers to reflect on the globalization fenomenum  and the internationalization process, with a focus on emerging countries, especially the BRICs (Brazil, Russia, India and China). As a sample we select a comparative deal with strategies adopted in the internationalization of 3 Brazilian companies, through a case study of Odebrecht, Petrobrás and Siderúrgica Nacional in a specific point of viw: knowledge transfer, analyzing intercultural risks and how they can be decisive in their success or not. As conclusions of the article, pointing out an internationalization process requires: (1) investment, (2) study of barriers and (3) risk mapping in the operation.
