Coping Strategies to Covid-19 Adopted in Primary Health Care: Integrative Review

Abstract

Objective: To identify, in the scientific literature, the coping strategies against Covid-19 adopted in Primary Health Care. Methodology: The study is an integrative review, carried out in the databases Portal de Periódicos Capes, Embase, Cochrane, LILACS, MEDLINE and SciELO, in the period between the months of May and June 2021. The problem arose from the following guiding question: ''What are the coping strategies against Covid-19 adopted in Primary Health Care in Brazil?''. Studies were included in the original articles modality, consistent with the proposed theme, published between January 2020 and June 2021, in Portuguese, English and Spanish. In turn, it was decided to exclude articles not available in full, theses and literature reviews. Results and Discussion: A total of 49 studies were identified, however, after adopting the eligibility criteria, seven studies were selected to compose this review. The following measures were identified: action flow to handle suspected cases with professional training, telehealth, team support focused on the role of the Community Health Agent, health education practices, territorial surveillance flowchart to search for contacts, use of homeopathic medicine and a standardized clinical data collection program. Conclusion: It was observed that through the measures identified, Primary Health Care (PHC) can play a significant role in mitigating the effects caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
