Trabajando en primera línea: el impacto psicológico del COVID-19 en los profesionales de la salud

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo investigar en la literatura a través de una revisión sistemática cuáles son los principales problemas psicológicos que afectan a los profesionales de la salud que trabajan en la primera línea del COVID-19. El procedimiento metodológico se realizó siguiendo las pautas del protocolo PRISMA. La selección de estudios se realizó mediante búsquedas en Embase, PubMed, Scopus y la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS), utilizando descriptores controlados. Los estudios publicados desde diciembre de 2019 hasta marzo de 2021 se consideraron elegibles, sin restricciones de idioma. Con los resultados de las búsquedas, se seleccionaron 71 artículos para componer el estudio, comprobando que 108,766 profesionales de la salud trabajaban en la primera línea del COVID-19, el género femenino fue mayoritario 84,974, frente al masculino 22,773. Entre los profesionales en activo, 18.764 tenían depresión, 17.877 ansiedad, 6.164 estrés y 14.256 otros problemas psicológicos. Así, es claro que la pandemia de COVID-19 ha contribuido al aumento de los impactos psicológicos en los profesionales de la salud, y es importante implementar medidas de intervención para promover la salud, para que de esta forma se reduzcan.
