The present article was elaborated from the reflections produced in the Discipline “Studies about the game, the toy and the joke in education: theoretical-methodological approaches” of the Post-Graduation course in Education of the Federal University of São Carlos - UFSCAR in partnership with professors from the Università Degli Studi Di Modena and Reggio Emilia, in Italy, and Edugest Formación Educativa and Serveis per a la Infancia Créixer Junts, in Spain. The analyzed experiences were lived at Escola Janela in Cavalcante-GO, in 2021, with the participation of children and teachers of Early Childhood Education. The objective was to investigate the senses and meanings constructed by the children through social interaction and the connection with the little house space. For an analytical understanding of the complexity of children's interactions, we adopt an interdisciplinary stance based on Childhood Studies and Child Studies. These perspectives, although different, share a common object of study. Within the scope of studies on children, we will briefly present the theories of human development that emphasize the role of playing in the learning of children present in the Reggio Emilia and Pikler approaches, which were mentioned throughout the meetings by the invited international institutions. It is concluded that the symbolic game experienced by children not only determines psychic transformations, but also their consciousness and their relationships with the environment, both internal and external.
