Resumen

A través del contraste entre dos formas de navegación distintas, oriundas de las Islas Carolinas y de las Islas Marshall, en Micronesia, buscamos discutir dos enfoques teóricos prevalentes en las discusiones sobre navegación en la antropología - la teoría cognitiva de la navegación y la teoría del descubrir camino. Enfatizando las posibilidades y límites de cada enfoque, argumentamos por la complementariedad de estos aparatos teóricos en el estudio antropológico de la navegación.
