A Narrative and a carnival
Thinking from Rosa Magalhães about the teaching of history through the enchanted lenses of carnival

The central objective of this article is to think about how the universe of carnival, based on the samba school parades, can contribute to the production of knowledge and the teaching of history. From the 1994 parade of Imperatriz Leopoldinense entitled “Catarina de Médicis Na Corte Dos Tupinambás e Tabajaras”, which tells a narrative unknown even in the most traditional historiographic field. Created by carnival artist Rosa Magalhães, the plot becomes an important historical source to contribute to the field of knowledge and the teaching of history. In this scenario, I still bring a brief passage about the life and contribution of this carnival artist of great reference to the world of samba and to the production of knowledge.
