This paper has the main objective to present and contextualize the writings of Alberto Torres within a complex process of discussion about the identity of the Brazilian nation, in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century, from its most significant publication: The Organization national (1914). Important to note also that the text is not intended to promote the conceptual debate regarding the national identity, but just exploring the perceptions and perspectives that the author had the Brazilian nation.
