EXPERIÊNCIA SOBRE ALIMENTAÇÃO NUMA ESCOLA ESTADUAL EM SÃO JOÃO DEL REI-MG

Abstract

The project ‘Children’s University’ had as its objective to discuss with students the real problem about eating habits, food nutritional values and beauty patterns forced by society. Activities were developed at Estadual School in São João del Rei-MG in two 8^th Grade Elementary School classes involving Science and PE teachers. The project is based in three main stages. First of all, the theme was chosen by the class’s teachers. After that, there were realized workshops that proded for students curiosities and doubts about the theme and at the end each student wrote free questions about it. There were obtained 40 questions. The third stage consists in workshops where these questions could be answered, rising some new questions and deeper discussion. Moreover in this phase an anatomic model added to some slides and a microscope were used to emphasize the concepts approached in late workshops. Therefore the activities looked for giving the students autonomy to think and understand that eating habits and lifestyle are deeply related to our health and each of us is responsible for it.
