PROJETO ACOLHENDO MEMÓRIAS PROMOVENDO EDUCAÇÃO EM SAÚDE E ORIENTAÇÕES NUTRICIONAIS PARA IDOSOS DURANTE A PANDEMIA DO COVID-19

Abstract

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared a state of pandemic by the new coronavirus (COVID-19), which preferably affects the elderly and people with chronic non-communicable diseases. The objective of this study is to describe the educational activities and nutritional guidelines in health aimed at combating the COVID-19 pandemic through the university extension project. This is an experience report of the actions of the “Acolhendo Memórias” extension project during the COVID-19 pandemic. Four audio-visual products were developed that reached the elderly through social networks and the radio program, based on scientific evidence and the recommendations of national and international health agencies, being considered tools to combat the pandemic caused by COVID-19 in Santa Cruz-RN, Brazil.
