The TUTOR project conducted a guided visit to the Contestado Settlement, owned by MST in Lapa-Pr, aiming to strengthen the university's three pillars: research, teaching, and extension. Thirty-six students participated in this initiative to connect academia with the community. They familiarized themselves with the settlement's history, practices, and compiled an observational report for content analysis. The analysis unveiled stereotypes and biased perceptions about MST influenced by narratives from dominant classes in both official and unofficial media. This extension experience highlights the need for more informed training projects to reshape perceptions about MST.
