Ants have several characteristics that can be used in studies of biodiversity, monitoring, fragmentation and ecology of ecosystems. This work aims to contribute to a better understanding of the dynamics and biodiversity of ant fauna in two fragments in the Environmental Protection Area of ??Inhamum. The study took place in two areas of Cerrado in the APA of Inhamum. The traps were distributed in two areas, in each area with thirty sample units. The collections were carried out in the months: September to December 2017 and January to March 2018. Provid type traps were used to collect the material. For statistical analysis, the data were submitted to fauna analysis, carried out in the ANAFAU program. The Chao1 and Chao2 wealth estimates were performed with the aid of the R program. A total of 1,845 individuals were accounted for, distributed in 29 genera, 22 for Area I, 11 exclusive genera and 18 genera for Area II, 7 genera exclusive for this area. The accumulation curve of the two areas was not stable, thus showing that a greater sampling effort would be needed to achieve equilibrium.
