Abstract
The paper aimed to reflect on the challenges and possibilities for the approach of menstruation in the teaching of biology from a perspective of social justice and discussion of power relations, through the characterization of the senses mobilized by students of the eighth grade of a school in Bogotá, Colombia, at the beginning and end of a didactic proposal. Recognizing that traditionally the themes of the body are approached in a hygienist, deterministic and biomedical way, we worked in Science classes, a didactic proposal that would allow the construction of other senses about menstruation. The characterization of these senses constructed by the student at the beginning, and ate the end of the proposal demonstrate the importance of problematizing machism, concepts of gender identity, the articulation between capitalism and body control for the political formation of the student and changing the views on menstruation.
