Masculinidades e relações de poder na animação “O Rei Leão”
Abstract
The Lion King is one of the most watched and profitable productions in cinema. It is information that reinforces this animation as a powerful cultural artifact, that is, as a product that operates as a way to produce subjectivities and build meanings. This means to say that we approached the post-structuralist and Foucaultian perspective to problematize masculinities, especially from the relationships established between hegemonic, accomplices, subordinated and marginalized masculinities. We also want to put under investigation the relationships between the story projected on the screen and the gender investments in the viewer, since we are considering that cinema and films teach things to their audiences, questioning the power relations that present themselves in cultural artifacts.
