READING IMPROVING PERFORMANCE IN STUDIES AND EXAMS IN LIQUID TIMES: A CASE STUDY

Reading is fundamental to the intellectual development of people. In Brazil, the number of books read per year per person is relatively small, which is 2.43 books per person according to the research "Portraits of Reading in Brazil", 4a. Edition, made by the Institute Pro-book in 2016. According to the INAF 2018 "As for those who entered or finished Higher Education, 96% are considered Functionally Literate, but only 34% reached the Proficient level. Reading can minimize functional illiteracy. The purpose of this article is to present a study in which a middle school student starts reading one book per month and keeps reading for the last 4 years. The case study reveals a person who initially had difficulties with reading and textual interpretation and who after 4 years of continuous reading that has passed a competition, has entered higher education and everything leads one to believe that he is able to study independently. difficulties presented by colleagues that read seldon read books.
